INTEGRATED COUNSELLING
MAGGIE JOHNSON MBACP. DIP HE INTEGRAL THERAPEUTIC COUNSELLING (Distinction)

As an integrally trained therapist I am able to use a variety of methods and skills to assist in the therapeutic process. This holistic approach to therapy and to the person, looks at what is happening cognitively, emotionally and physically as well as family dynamics, culture and environment.  These things have a strong impact on the way we see ourselves and others and the values we hold, and as a consequence our beliefs and behaviours.

My practice has addressed issues of depression; self esteem and self – belief; anxieties around job loss and retirement; relationship breakdown; childhood sexual abuse; anger management; learning difficulties; parental separation (adolescents); stress; bereavement; loss and rejection; and the ageing process.

As a Member of the BACP I abide by the guidelines set out in the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I also work with a national charity in supporting victims of crime and have been trained in dealing with Young Victims (children and adolescents) and also victims of Sexual Violence.
